another important thing to consider before ruling out the card as it doesn't work or is not compatible is to make sure everything is done correctly, there was many changes in sierra and many cards that work in El Capitan didn't work in sierra and it wasn't that the card wasn't compatible.
TI are better than the GT and GTX are also better than the GT but it also depends on the card model.
